Used car dealers in Dubai and Sharjah are flooded with frantic calls these days. Owners of light vehicles want to sell off their 10-year or older vehicles to them. And they want to do it as soon as possible. This follows the recent announcement of the Ministry of Interior banning transfer of registration of cars more than 10 years old. The rule is to be effective January 2009.
The new rule will leave the owners with 2 options.
They would d have to either sell off the 10 – year old cars now or export these cars to their home countries later.
