Hino Australia has dedicated 800 square metres of space to showcase its extensive line-up of light, medium and heavy-duty trucks at this year’s International Truck, Trailer and Equipment Show at the Melbourne Showgrounds starting Thursday, 18 March.
Hino regards the show as one of the major events on its 2010 calendar.

Hino Australia President Steve Lotter said the theme for the company’s town square-based stand is ‘A History of Innovation’.
“We believe our theme reflects the success Hino has enjoyed in bringing our range of light, medium and heavy-duty trucks to market over many years,” he said.
“More recently, the quality, durability and reliability that Hino is renowned for has been witnessed by the success we have achieved at the Dakar rally. Hino has now completed Dakar for 19 consecutive years and has won 10 titles during that time.”
Hino’s Hybrid technology will feature prominently on the Hino stand, with the Hino Hybrid 300 Series 714 on display alongside the Japanese domestic model FC Hybrid.
A Hybrid display hub forming part of the Hino stand will show visitors Hino’s world-leading hybrid technology.
“There is no better example of Hino’s technological innovation than the diesel-electric hybrid truck,” Mr Lotter said.
“Hino was the first manufacturer to introduce a hybrid truck to the Australian market, and we have seen great acceptance and interest in hybrid technology.
“Our customer list continues to grow. It includes an increasing number of companies such as TNT Express, Nestlé, Australia Post, Smith’s Snackfoods, Toll Logistics and many local councils around the country.”
The Hino Hybrid 714 automatic will be released in July 2010.
The official launch of the 300 Series 614 Automatic Dump will be another Hino stand highlight.
The new 614 automatic dump – Australia’s first fully-automatic, light-duty dump truck – is suitable for landscapers, pool builders, rental companies, builders, plumbers and tradespersons.
Standard safety equipment includes a driver’s SRS airbag, and ABS brakes with electronic brake force distribution.
The International Truck, Trailer and Equipment Show runs from 18-20 March at the Melbourne Showgrounds and entry is free.
