352 Used car dealers in Trinidad receive import licences
Thursday, February 14th, 2008President of the Pre-owned Car Dealers Association of Trinidad, Inshan Ishmael, confirmed that they had received their licences for the importation of foreign used cars from the Ministry of Trade and Industry.
The ministry stopped issuing licences late last month, after it started a review of the current quota system on foreign used car dealers.
The freeze on licences was lifted recently, after Trade Minister Keith Rowley said in a release that the 352 registered foreign used car dealers would be issued licences from February 14, because the review had progressed to a point where the issuance of licences could be resumed.
