Based on the technology of celluloid production, highly diversified cellulosic derivative production is one of the company's core business operations. Among these derivatives, cellulose acetate elicits the greatest volume of demand, due to its wide range of applications, which include cigarette filters, acetate fibers, photographic film, and protective film for LCD polarizing boards.
Acetate tow for cigarette filters, made from cellulose acetate, is supplied to markets both inside and outside of Japan. Another mainstay of cellulosic operations is in water-soluble polymer products. Carboxymethylcellulose(CMC) is used in the fields of civil engineering, oil drilling and fish feed. Hydroxyethylcellulose(HEC) is used in paints, polymerization, and cosmetics. JELLNER, cationized HEC, is applied in cosmetics. |
