�@The electronics device industry has made rapid gains in recent years as evidenced by a number of significant trends: expansion of the consumer digital appliance market that signals the dawn of a full-fledged network society; advancement of IP communications and the high-speed optical networks that are the backbone to an ubiquitous society; and, promotion of eco-friendly and increasingly intelligent vehicles. Under these circumstances the environment surrounding the power electronics industry, in which our Company is positioned, is undergoing a rapid and radical transformation. On the one hand, there are increasing demands for higher efficiency, smaller packages and greater functionality of power products; while on the other hand, there are demands for countermeasures to global warming for environmental protection and for effective utilization of energy resources.
