Since then, the company has continued to innovate, for example, introducing Japan's first air-conditioning system using HFC-134a refrigerant. The Air-conditioning Business Division became an independent company, Zexel Valeo Climate Control Corporation, in 2000. This became a subsidiary fully owned by Valeo of France and was renamed Valeo Thermal Systems Japan Corporation (VTSJ) in 2005.
